Over the past decade, the emerging market (EM) corporate bond market has evolved from a small sub-set of the overall emerging market debt universe into a fully-fledged asset class. Now a deep and genuinely diversified universe, EM corporate bond markets offer investors exposure to a wide range of countries and companies, while also presenting a compelling value opportunity in today's low-yield environment.
In this paper, we consider the merits of the asset class on an absolute basis and relative to developed market corporate bonds and EM sovereign debt.
