The investment landscape has changed hugely over the last 20 years, with the old investment mantra of putting
all your eggs in one basket well and truly consigned to history. The credit crunch of 2007/08 served to focus
investors' minds on a return to disciplined investment and risk management. Nowadays the risk budget is
allocated to only those asset classes that are expected to deliver a suitable level of return per unit of risk - with
the information ratio being one such measure of this.
