Institutional ownership of US municipal bonds by non-US investors has nearly doubled over the last ten years and continues to rise. Municipal bonds not only offer attractive yields relative to other fixed income strategies, they also deliver a positive social impact as they are issued for the greater good of the residents and environment of a state or local area.

With US rates trending higher, history shows that municipal bonds are also less sensitive to US interest rate movements than US treasury and corporate bonds so, even in a reflationary world, we believe they can continue to offer attractive risk-adjusted returns.
